A new dawn a new day....or about 11.30 am

I joined Folksy, a British based site where you ‘can buy and sell all things handmade’ and since I happened to have some handmade items, and my cousin is a dab hand with a needle and also had some handmade items, I thought I would give it a shot…this was about a month ago.

My initial thought was that I would start a shop and lots of people would see our fantastic items and be virtually queuing to buy them. I could then begin to make some more fabulous items between rushing to the Post Office and finding some inspiration with friends over a glass or two of wine celebrating my success. Tada ….easy peasey

This was not to be ……. My first dilemma was photo’s. I have hundreds of photo’s but not one good enough to compare with the very professional photos seen in the other Folksy shops. In all honesty Billy (my cat) could have taken better ones blindfolded with his paws in mittens.

This is Billy when he was a kitten

My cousin and I, I’ll call her Barbara, for that is her name, spent 8 hours photographing. I hammered a couple of nails in the bedroom wall ….. what we do for our art ! And hung some black velvet as a back drop. Dusted, polished (not that it needed doing of course!) the wooden drawers to use as a plinth and set to work. After flashing, lighting, zooming, macro-ing, sitting, standing, climbing ladders and using all functions on her camera we have what I hope are some decent photo’s of our work.

Some decent photo's of some of our work!
